Krungthai-AXA Life supports IDAHOBIT Day and demonstrates commitment to an inclusive culture

Krungthai-AXA Life celebrated IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia), with an event to promote a fairer and more equal world, as well as end the violence and discrimination experienced by homophobia, bisexuals, gender-diverse, and transgender people.

Mrs. Sally O’Hara, CEO, gave the opening speech, highlighting the importance of equal rights and encouraging all employees to respect and accept one another, so that everyone has the freedom to bring their entire selves to work.  During the address, she said “This year’s IDAHOBIT theme “Our Bodies, Our Lives, Our Rights” reminds us that everyone must have the right to make decisions about their bodies and their lives. Indeed, all of us must play a role in standing up and speaking out against hate, discrimination, and violence -- wherever and whenever it occurs.”

LGBT+ celebrities were also invited to the event to share their experience on overcoming adversity and challenges, and how they found the courage to be themselves and succeed in both their personal and professional life.

Khun Bubphawadee Owararinth, Chief People and Brand & Communications Officer gave the closing speech and shared her vision for Krungthai-AXA Life: For all employees, not only to be aware of all forms of violence, but also to stop in the moment any discrimination experienced by the LGBT+ community. K. Oy added “Krungthai-AXA Life is a safe place for everyone to be themselves (Know you can be yourself, know you can be free) because when everyone has the freedom to bring their entire selves to work, they can reach their full potential which in turn promotes the company’s sustainable growth and development.”

In conclusion, K. Oy said “at KTAXA, inclusion is not just about one day, inclusion is our guiding principle and embedded throughout our vision and our values. We want to stand up against discrimination of LGBT+ people and promote equal rights on May 17th and every day.
