6 ‘สัญญาณทางเศรษฐกิจ’ ที่นักลงทุนควรจับตามอง
 
 

GDP หรือ Gross Domestic Product เป็นดัชนีชี้วัดผลิตภัณฑ์มวลรวมของประเทศ ที่บอกถึงการเติบโตของเศรษฐกิจภายในประเทศในแต่ละปีว่ามีการเติบโตเพิ่มขึ้นหรือลดลงเท่าไหร่ ซึ่ง GDP มีความสำคัญต่อนักลงทุนและการเคลื่อนย้ายเงินลงทุน เพราะไม่ว่าจะเป็นนักลงทุนรายเล็กหรือรายใหญ่ ย่อมอยากจะลงทุนในประเทศที่มีเศรษฐกิจที่ดี มีเสถียรภาพ และมีการเติบโตที่มากกว่า 

โดยหาก GDP เป็นบวก หมายความว่าเศรษฐกิจภาพรวมเติบโตขึ้นจากปีก่อน ขณะเดียวกันหาก GDP เป็นบวกแต่เป็นบวกที่น้อยลงเรื่อยๆ เมื่อเทียบกับปีที่ผ่านมา แสดงว่าเศรษฐกิจมีการเติบโตแต่เติบโตในระดับที่ช้าลงเรื่อยๆ ในทางกลับกัน หาก GDP ติดลบ หมายความว่าเศรษฐกิจโดยภาพรวมมีการหดตัวจากปีก่อน บ่งบอกถึงภาวะเศรษฐกิจของประเทศนั้นหยุดชะงักหรือชะลอตัวนั่นเอง

2. อัตราการว่างงาน
 
 

ตัวเลขการว่างงานในภาพรวมหากยิ่งน้อยยิ่งดี เพราะแปลว่าคนในประเทศมีงานทำ แต่ที่สำคัญกว่าตัวเลขที่มากหรือน้อย คือ การวิเคราะห์แนวโน้มการว่างงานว่าเพิ่มขึ้นหรือลดลง เช่น อัตราการว่างงานอยู่ที่ 1% หากเป็น 1% ไปเรื่อยๆ ก็ไม่เป็นไร แต่ถ้ามีแนวโน้มสูงขึ้นอาจจะมีปัญหาในอนาคตได้  

แต่อัตราการว่างงานที่ต่ำก็ไม่ได้เป็นปัจจัยเดียวที่จะบอกว่าเศรษฐกิจของประเทศนั้น กำลังขยายตัวไปในทิศทางที่น่าพอใจเสมอไป โดยตัวเลขอัตราการว่างงานที่ต่ำอาจตีความในอีกมุมหนึ่งได้ว่า เพราะหาแรงงานได้ยากมากขึ้น เนื่องจากโครงสร้างประชากรของประเทศกำลังวิ่งเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุก็เป็นได้

เงินเฟ้อเป็นตัวเลขที่บอกว่าโดยภาพรวมแล้วสินค้าและบริการต่างๆ ราคาแพงขึ้นกี่เปอร์เซ็นต์ (%) เมื่อเทียบกับปีก่อนหน้า โดยตัวเลขเงินเฟ้อนี้ถ้าจะให้ดีและถือว่าเป็นภาวะปกติ ไม่มีผลเสียหายต่อภาวะเศรษฐกิจ ต้องเป็นเงินเฟ้อแบบอ่อนๆ ซึ่งข้าวของอาจแพงขึ้นได้นิดหน่อย แต่ก็ไม่เกิน 5% เพราะเงินเฟ้อแบบอ่อนจะทำให้มีการกระตุ้นให้เกิดการขยายตัวทางเศรษฐกิจทางด้านการลงทุน การผลิต การจ้างงาน และรายได้ประชาชาติได้

นอกจากนี้ หากเงินเฟ้อขยับสูงขึ้น จะส่งผลให้อัตราดอกเบี้ยที่หักเงินเฟ้อออก หรือที่เรียกว่า อัตราดอกเบี้ยที่แท้จริง (Real Interest Rate) ปรับลดลง เนื่องจากดอกเบี้ยที่เราได้รับจะนำไปใช้ซื้อของได้น้อยลง ซึ่งเงินเฟ้อจึงมีผลกระทบต่อผลตอบแทนจากการลงทุน ทั้งผลตอบแทนที่อยู่ในรูปของดอกเบี้ยเงินฝากหรือผลตอบแทนจากการลงทุนในสินทรัพย์ต่างๆ ดังนั้น ควรลงทุนในสินทรัพย์ที่ให้ผลตอบแทนสูงกว่าหรือชนะเงินเฟ้อ เช่น หุ้น กองทุนรวม ทองคำ หรืออสังหาริมทรัพย์ เป็นต้น

4. ดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นผู้บริโภค
 
 

เป็นผลการสำรวจความเห็นของผู้บริโภคจากแบบสอบถาม ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มตัวอย่างว่ามีความคิดเห็นอย่างไร ทั้งในปัจจุบันและอนาคต เช่น มุมมองต่อเศรษฐกิจเป็นอย่างไร มองว่าเศรษฐกิจจะดีขึ้นหรือแย่ลง หรือมุมมองต่อการบริโภค จะจับจ่ายใช้สอยมากขึ้นหรือไม่ ซึ่งจะช่วยทำให้เราทันเหตุการณ์หรือมองเห็นแนวโน้มของเศรษฐกิจในอนาคต อย่างน้อยๆ ภายในระยะเวลาอันใกล้ได้ แต่มุมมองความเชื่อมั่นของผู้บริโภคเป็นอะไรที่เปลี่ยนแปลงได้เร็ว ดังนั้น ตัวเลขนี้จะสามารถบอกอนาคตได้ในระยะสั้นเท่านั้น ซึ่งดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นผู้บริโภคสามารถดูได้จากการนำผลสำรวจมาคำนวณดัชนีและเปรียบเทียบได้ ดังนี้
 
 

●        ดัชนี = 50 หมายถึง ผู้บริโภคมีความเชื่อมั่นต่อเศรษฐกิจทรงตัวจากเดือนก่อน
 
 

●        ดัชนี > 50 หมายถึง ผู้บริโภคมีความเชื่อมั่นต่อเศรษฐกิจดีขึ้นกว่าเดือนก่อน และมีแนวโน้มที่จะบริโภคมากขึ้น
 
 

●        ดัชนี < 50 หมายถึง ผู้บริโภคมีความเชื่อมั่นเชิงลบต่อเศรษฐกิจกว่าเดือนก่อน และมีแนวโน้มที่จะบริโภคน้อยลง
 
 

ตัวอย่างเช่น ดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นผู้บริโภคโดยรวมเดือนมิถุนายน 2567 ปรับตัวลดลงเล็กน้อยมาอยู่ที่ระดับ 52.3 จากระดับ 52.4 ในเดือนก่อนหน้า แต่ดัชนี > 50 ยังอยู่ในช่วงเชื่อมั่นติดต่อกันเป็นเดือนที่ 19 โดยสาเหตุคาดว่ามาจากสถานการณ์ภายนอกประเทศส่งผลกระทบต่อเศรษฐกิจไทยให้ชะลอตัว ความเข้มงวดของธนาคารในการปล่อยสินเชื่อจากปัญหาภาระหนี้ครัวเรือนที่อยู่ในระดับสูง และความกังวลต่อภาระค่าครองชีพและราคาพลังงาน 

5. ดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นภาคธุรกิจ
 
 

เป็นดัชนีที่ใช้ประเมินสภาวะเศรษฐกิจในปัจจุบันและแนวโน้มที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตอีก 3 เดือนข้างหน้า ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในตัวชี้วัดที่ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย ใช้ตัดสินใจดำเนินนโยบายทางการเงิน เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับสภาวะเศรษฐกิจ ณ ช่วงเวลานั้น เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมั่นทางธุรกิจของผู้ประกอบการ ว่ามีความเชื่อมั่นเป็นอย่างไร กำลังกังวลต่อภาวะธุรกิจอยู่หรือไม่ โดยสำรวจความเห็นของผู้ประกอบการจากแบบสอบถาม ไปยังกลุ่มตัวอย่างธุรกิจขนาดเล็ก กลาง และใหญ่ ใน 6 องค์ประกอบ ได้แก่ การผลิต คำสั่งซื้อ การลงทุน ต้นทุนการผลิต ผลประกอบการ และการจ้างงาน ซึ่งสามารถเปรียบเทียบได้ ดังนี้

●        ดัชนี = 50 หมายถึง ผู้ประกอบการมีความเชื่อมั่นทางธุรกิจทรงตัวจากเดือนก่อน

●        ดัชนี > 50 หมายถึง ผู้ประกอบการมีความเชื่อมั่นทางธุรกิจดีขึ้นกว่าเดือนก่อน

●        ดัชนี < 50 หมายถึง ผู้ประกอบการมีความเชื่อมั่นทางธุรกิจแย่ลงกว่าเดือนก่อน

ตัวอย่างเช่น ในเดือนพฤษภาคม 2567 ดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นทางธุรกิจโดยรวมเพิ่มขึ้นมาอยู่ที่ระดับ 48.0 จาก 47.3 ในเดือนก่อน แต่ก็ยังมีดัชนี < 50 ซึ่งส่วนหนึ่งจากความกังวลภาวะเศรษฐกิจ และปัญหาหนี้ครัวเรือนที่อยู่ในระดับสูงกดดันความสามารถในการกู้ของลูกค้าโดยเฉพาะกลุ่มรายได้น้อย

6. ดัชนีการลงทุนภาคเอกชน
  

ดัชนีนี้ใช้ติดตามภาวะและประเมินแนวโน้มการลงทุนของภาคเอกชน ได้แก่ พื้นที่ได้รับอนุญาตก่อสร้าง ปริมาณจำหน่ายวัสดุก่อสร้าง (ปูนซีเมนต์ คอนกรีต กระเบื้อง) การนำเข้าสินค้าทุน ปริมาณการจำหน่ายเครื่องจักร/อุปกรณ์ในประเทศ และปริมาณจำหน่ายยานยนต์เพื่อการลงทุน ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นตัวบ่งชี้ว่าเศรษฐกิจในอนาคตจะขยายตัวหรือหดตัวได้ดีในระดับหนึ่ง 

เนื่องจากเวลาที่ผู้ผลิตขายของได้ ผู้บริโภคมีความต้องการซื้อของ ทำให้สินค้าคงเหลือเหลือน้อยลง ผู้ผลิตอาจมีแนวโน้มที่จะสั่งของมาผลิตเพิ่มขึ้น เกิดการกระตุ้นทางเศรษฐกิจ ในทางกลับกันหากผู้ผลิตขายของไม่ได้ ผู้บริโภคไม่ซื้อหรือซื้อน้อยลง สินค้าคงเหลือมีมากขึ้น ผู้ผลิตจำนวนมากก็จะชะลอการผลิต อาจสั่งเครื่องจักร สั่งสินค้าน้อยลง ก็เป็นตัวบ่งชี้ได้ว่าเศรษฐกิจมีแนวโน้มที่จะเติบโตช้าลง

หลังจากเราได้ดูสัญญาณทางเศรษฐกิจที่นักลงทุนควรจับตามองกันไปแล้ว เราไปเช็กกันดีกว่าว่าเศรษฐกิจในปัจจุบันตอนนี้เป็นอย่างไรบ้าง

สถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจในปัจจุบัน 
 
 

●        เศรษฐกิจไทย มีแนวโน้มขยายตัวได้สูงขึ้นที่ร้อยละ 2.6 และ 3.0 ในปี 2567 และ 2568 ตามลำดับ จากภาคการท่องเที่ยวที่ปรับดีขึ้นทั้งในด้านจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวและค่าใช้จ่ายต่อคน การบริโภคภาคเอกชนที่ขยายตัวต่อเนื่องแม้จะชะลอลงจากปีก่อนที่ขยายตัวสูง และการใช้จ่ายภาครัฐที่จะกลับมาเพิ่มขึ้นในช่วงที่เหลือของปี ขณะที่การส่งออกมีแนวโน้มฟื้นตัวได้อย่างค่อยเป็นค่อยไปในช่วงครึ่งหลังของปี

●        เศรษฐกิจโลก OECD คาดการณ์การขยายตัวของเศรษฐกิจโลกในปี 2567 ขึ้นสู่ร้อยละ 3.1 จากตัวเลขคาดการณ์เดิมที่ร้อยละ 2.9 พร้อมกับปรับเพิ่มการคาดการณ์เศรษฐกิจสหรัฐ จีน และยูโรโซน เนื่องจากเงินเฟ้อชะลอตัวลงและอุปสงค์ฟื้นตัวขึ้น

6 'Economic Signals' Investors Should Keep an Eye On
 
 

GDP, also known as Gross Domestic Product, serves as a key indicator that quantifies a nation's overall production output, reflecting its annual economic advancement. This metric holds significance for investors as it influences their investment choices, with both individual and institutional investors showing a preference for nations demonstrating robust economic performance, stability, and growth potential.

If GDP is positive, it means the economy is growing compared to the previous year. Conversely, if GDP is positive but decreasing gradually compared to the previous year, it indicates slower economic growth. On the other hand, if GDP is negative, it means the economy is contracting compared to the previous year, suggesting a slowdown or recession.

The lower the unemployment rate in general, the better, because it means more people in the country have jobs. However, what's more important than the actual number being high or low is analyzing the trend of unemployment increasing or decreasing. For example, if the unemployment rate is at 1%, it may not be a big deal if it stays at 1%, but if there is a rising trend, there could be potential issues in the future.

On the other hand, a low unemployment rate alone is not the only factor to determine if a country's economy is consistently expanding in a satisfactory direction. A low unemployment rate may also be interpreted from another perspective - that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find labor due to the country's aging population shifting towards an elderly society.

Inflation is a number that indicates by how much the prices of goods and services have increased as a percentage (%) compared to the previous year. This inflation figure should be mild and considered normal, with no negative impact on the economy. The mild inflation may cause a slight increase in the price of rice or other goods, but not exceeding 5%, as mild inflation stimulates economic expansion through investment, production, employment, and national income.

Furthermore, if inflation rises, it will result in a decrease in the real interest rate, also known as the Real Interest Rate, as the interest we receive will be less used for purchasing goods. Therefore, inflation has an impact on the returns from investments, whether in the form of deposit interest or returns from investments in various assets. Therefore, it is advisable to invest in assets that provide higher returns than or outperform inflation, such as stocks, mutual funds, gold, or real estate.

 Is the result of a consumer survey from a questionnaire, which is a sample group indicating their opinions on various aspects, both present and future. For example, how do they view the economy? Do they think the economy will improve or worsen? Or how do they view consumer spending? Will they spend more or less? This helps us anticipate events or trends in the economy in the near future, at least within a close timeframe. However, consumer confidence can change rapidly, so these numbers can only predict the short-term future. Consumer confidence index can be calculated and compared based on survey results to see changes in consumer confidence.
 
 

●        Index = 50 means that consumers have confidence in the stable economy from the previous month.
 
 

●        Index > 50 means that consumers have more confidence in the economy than the previous month and are inclined to consume more.
 
 

●        Index < 50 means that consumers have a negative confidence in the economy compared to the previous month and are trending towards consuming less.
 
 

For example, The overall consumer confidence index in June 2017 slightly decreased to 52.3 from 52.4 in the previous month. However, the index remains above 50, indicating continuous confidence for the 19th consecutive month. This is believed to be influenced by external factors impacting the Thai economy, causing a slowdown. Banks' cautiousness in lending due to high household debt levels and concerns about the cost of living and energy prices are contributing factors.

The Business Sentiment Index is used to assess the current economic situation and future trends for the next 3 months. It is one of the indicators that the Bank of Thailand uses to make decisions on monetary policy to align with the economic conditions at that time. It reflects the business confidence of entrepreneurs, indicating their level of confidence and concerns about the business environment. This is done by surveying the opinions of entrepreneurs through questionnaires sent to small, medium, and large businesses in 6 components: production, orders, investment, production costs, performance, and employment.

●        Index = 50 means that the business has confidence from the previous month.

●        Index >50 means that business has more confidence than last month.

●        Index < 50 means that business has less confidence than a month ago.

For example, In May 2567, the overall business confidence index increased to 48.0 from 47.3 in the previous month. However, the index is still below 50, partly due to concerns about the economic situation and high household debt levels, which put pressure on customers' borrowing ability, especially low-income groups.

This index is used to monitor and evaluate the investment trends of the private sector, including areas permitted for construction, quantities of construction materials supplied (cement, concrete, tiles), imports of capital goods, quantities of machinery/equipment supplied domestically, and quantities of vehicles supplied for investment. These are indicators of whether the economy will expand or contract in the future at some level.

Due to the time when manufacturers sell goods, consumers have a desire to buy, resulting in fewer remaining products. Manufacturers may tend to order more production, stimulating the economy. Conversely, if manufacturers do not sell goods, consumers buy less or not at all, resulting in more remaining products. Many manufacturers may delay production, ordering fewer machines and goods, indicating a slowing economy.

After we have seen the economic signals that investors should keep an eye on, let's check better how the current economy is doing now.

 There is a trend of increasing by 2.6 percent and 3.0 percent in the year 2567 and 2568 respectively, from the tourism sector that has improved both in terms of the number of tourists and spending per person. Private consumption, which has been continuously expanding even though the growth rate has slowed down from the previous year, and government spending is expected to increase in the remaining period of the year. Meanwhile, exports are gradually recovering in the latter half of the year.

OECD forecasts global economic expansion in 2567 to rise to 3.1 percent from the previous estimate of 2.9 percent, along with upward revisions for the economies of the United States, China, and the Eurozone due to easing inflation and recovering demand.
